Membership

Membership to the Association shall be open to private sector companies, organizations and associations, consumers, policy makers who are involved in the promotion and development of Hydropower.

Categories of Membership

There shall be four categories of members to the Association namely;

  • Corporate Membership

    Corporate membership shall include a Corporation, Institution, Association / Organization and group or partnership that will be represented by designated persons. Each corporate member shall give notice in writing, to an honorary officer appointed by the National Executive Committee (NEC), from time to time, and of the name and address of the person designated to represent it at meetings.

  • Ordinary Membership

    Persons, who subscribe to the aims and objectives of the association and have paid the ordinary subscription fee prescribed in the regulations, shall be ordinary members provided they comply with the provisions governing membership. Only ordinary members of three months, standing shall have voting rights. For this case, academicians, researchers, individual equipment and service providers or individual consultants fall under this category and any other party qualified for the category.

  • Associate Membership

    Any person who has attained the age of eighteen (18) years shall be eligible for associate membership, provided they pay the fees prescribed by the regulations and subscribe to the aims and objectives of the Association. These members shall have no voting rights.

  • Honorary membership

    Persons who have made outstanding contributions to the causes of the association shall by the majority decision of the National Executive Committee (NEC) be made honorary members, but shall have no voting rights.

Acquisition of Membership

An individual, institution or company may become a member of the Association

  • Upon their application being accepted by a majority of the members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) at their meeting; and
  • Upon their application being accepted by a majority of the members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) at their meeting; and

The National Executive Committee (NEC) shall not be bound to accept any application, nor shall it be bound to assign any reasons for rejecting a particular application.

Every member shall be entitled to receive a Certificate of Membership under the common seal of the Association reflecting the category of membership.

Honorary members shall be nominated and approved by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Association.

We, the several persons / companies, whose names, addresses and descriptions subscribed, are desirous of being formed into an Association in pursuance of these Articles of Association.
