A Recap of the “Energy and Minerals Week 2023”

The Energy and Minerals Week 2023, organized by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development in collaboration with key partners including the Uganda National Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Alliance (UNREEEA), National Renewable Energy Platform (NREP), GIZ and other sector players unfolded with a series of impactful events aimed at advancing Uganda’s energy and minerals sectors.

At the center of the week was the “Energy & Minerals Exhibition 2023” held at Akamwesi Shopping Mall from November 13th to 18th, providing a platform for showcasing products and services within the Energy, Minerals, and Petroleum sectors. The exhibition aimed to share information, create awareness, foster partnerships, and demonstrate cutting-edge technologies. The final day, designated as the Energy & Minerals Week Family Day, emphasized community engagement.

Another integral part of the week was the “2nd Energy Mkutano and DealRoom”. This segment focused on presenting investment-ready sustainable energy projects to potential funders, an open business circle, and ongoing advisory support for transaction progression.

Also, part of the Energy and Minerals Week 2023 was the “Renewable Energy Conference & EXPO 2023” that took place from November 16th to 18th at the Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort in Kampala. With the theme “A Clean Energy Future For All,” the conference facilitated discussions among stakeholders from academia, industry, government, development partners, and civil society. The event featured a conference, side events, and exhibitions highlighting renewable energy innovations, businesses, and technologies.

The collaborative efforts of government bodies, industry players, and development partners during the Energy and Minerals Week 2023 showcased a shared dedication to driving sustainable development in Uganda’s energy and minerals sectors.
